A healthy microbiome is crucial for strong skin barrier function, and paraffin-based creams can mess with that.
And let's not forget the serious safety aspect. Liquid paraffin is highly flammable . You might have seen warnings about it on product packaging, but it's a real fire hazard, especially if it gets onto clothing, bedding, or bandages. My Opinion
Aproderm Colloidal Oat Cream has become an absolute staple in my skincare routine. As someone with persistent skin allergies and the misery of cracked skin, finding something that truly soothes and heals without causing new issues is a monumental win. The fact that it's also a safer alternative to paraffin-based products – both for my skin's microbiome and my general safety from fire risks – makes it even better.
It feels gentle, absorbs beautifully, and the relief it brings to dry, itchy, or cracked skin is immediate and lasting. It's fantastic for daily use and has seriously improved the overall condition of my skin.
